Privacy Policy

Pigeon connects your own Mac's Messages to your Android phone so you can use real iMessage and FaceTime. It is built so that your conversations stay yours. This policy explains what Pigeon does and doesn't do with your data.

What Pigeon handles

• Your messages and calls. Message content, reactions, and FaceTime media move encrypted directly between your Mac and your phone. The relay that connects them when you're on different networks routes only ciphertext, so it cannot read your messages or see or hear your calls. Nothing is stored on our servers.
• Contacts. Pigeon reads your phone's contacts on your device to show names and photos in your chats. Contact data stays on your device and is not uploaded to us.
• Camera and microphone. Used only during a FaceTime call, to send your video and audio into the call. They are never accessed outside an active call.
• Push notifications. To wake your phone for new messages and calls, Pigeon registers a device token with Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging. The wake signal is content-free — it tells your phone to check for a message, it does not carry the message.
• Purchases. If you subscribe to Pigeon Pro, the purchase is handled by Google Play and RevenueCat. We receive whether your subscription is active, not your payment details.
• Waitlist. If you join the waitlist on our website, the phone number you submit is used only to send you an invite.

What we don't do

• We don't store your messages, contacts, photos, or call content on our servers.
• We don't read your messages — the relay handles encrypted data only.
• We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
• Pigeon never handles your Apple ID or password. Your own Mac does the talking to Apple, exactly the way Apple built it to.

How your data is protected

Messages and call media are encrypted end-to-end between your devices. The relay connection is additionally protected in transit with TLS. Your message history is held only on your own Mac, under macOS's own file protections.

Data retention

Because your conversations stay on your Mac, we have nothing to retain or delete on your behalf. Push tokens and subscription status are kept only while your account is active and removed when you stop using Pigeon or uninstall it. Waitlist numbers are removed once invites have gone out.

Third-party services

Pigeon relies on a few services strictly to function: Google Play and RevenueCat (subscriptions), Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (content-free push wake-ups), and our own relay server (encrypted routing only). Each receives only what it needs for that job.

Children

Pigeon is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and, for material changes, note it in the app.
